This year the Education Centre at Clay Lane celebrates 20 years since it was built. In September 1998, it was officially opened by David Bellamy, and since then education services has engaged with over 250,000 children!
Affinity Water’s education services provide hands-on educational curriculum linked activities to young people aged 5-18 conveying key water saving messages, applying STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) subjects and caring for their local catchment. By encouraging our future scientists, engineers and industry leaders, we hope that these key messages and skills will be carried forward and applied over the next 20 years and beyond!
After a bit of a rummage through the centre ‘archives’ we found a couple of photos, the beginning and now.
Here’s to the next 20 years!
